The life of one answer on a bad connection.
Built for the back row of a basement lecture hall: every step is designed so an answer is never lost and never counted twice.
Tap
The page that took the tap loads about 17 KB of script and paints before its script arrives.
Queued
Offline? The answer waits on the phone with a request ID, and the screen says queued, never received.
Sent
Retries reuse the same ID with backoff, so a double tap or a flaky retry can't vote twice.
Stored
Postgres stores it before the phone hears back. Measured: 0.9 s on emulated slow 3G.
On screen
Results reach the big screen as one small summary, at most every 150 ms, however many people answer.
One honest limit: a phone with no signal at all can't reach a live room. Slidesflow keeps the answer safe and says it's waiting.

Is Slidesflow a free alternative to Mentimeter?
Yes. Slidesflow does the same job (live polls, word clouds, quizzes and Q&A on any phone) with a Free plan of up to 50 people in every session, and Pro at ₹199 a month paid in rupees by UPI or card. See the side-by-side comparison.
Do participants need an account or an app?
No. They open the link, scan the QR code or type the code at /join in any modern browser. Names are optional unless you require them.
Is voting anonymous?
Yes, by default. Each phone gets a random token; Slidesflow stores only a hash of it and no personal data. You can ask for names per presentation.
How many people can join?
Each plan has its own room size, shown in the pricing above. People already in a session can always rejoin, and if a room fills up the presenter sees how many were turned away.
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes, with no time limit and no card, and unlimited presentations. The pricing above lists exactly what each plan includes.
Can I cancel or switch plans?
Anytime, from Plan & billing. Cancelling stops renewals and you keep your plan until the period you paid for ends. Your presentations and results are never deleted when a plan ends.
Can someone vote twice?
Not from the same phone: the database allows one answer per question and retries reuse the original request. Someone who clears their browser can rejoin as a new anonymous participant — require names if that matters.
What can I export?
Every session is kept separately. Print any results page to PDF on every plan; Pro and Events also download all answers or a per-question summary as CSV.
Where does my data live?
In Slidesflow's own PostgreSQL database; it is never sold or shared. Payments are handled by Razorpay, so card and UPI details never reach Slidesflow.
